Don't instill fear in the name of God

Let's start with a real life example. We, the Manipuris have a certain God, who looks like a snake or dragon (I don't know the details, please ignore,it's for the sake of my Illustration only) . A family was blessed with this particular God for generations (as per their belief system) and so they used to do a number of things to please Him(certain Pujas, Do's and don'ts) . Ok, it was quite fine, though they have different issues, they were happy. Let's proceed to the next part of the story. A cute little girl was born in that family and she was very smart. When she started going to the school, one day a teacher (that's not me though) checked her school books and saw that she covered the head of the snake (may be S for Snake) with a piece of white paper. When enquired, the little girl replied," My mummy said that we have a snake God in our house and so we shouldn't do this and that. But I don't like Him, I do have a fear for Him. So I covered the face." Please... Try to understand the psychology of the young minds. You are suffocating the God inside the cute little girl. Don't target God to fulfill your "Do's and don'ts". Don't make God an "angry person" who is always angry if the child does something you don't like. That's you, not God.
