Cervical cancer and PAP Smear test

"You want to do PAP smear? " The nurse looked at me with a mixture of emotions in her eyes. Assuming her mind, I smiled," just a routine check up, nothing else." We know each other for a year now as I delivered my baby in this particular hospital and she helped me a lot during my labour and delivery. I was also bit surprised when my gynaecologist asked me to go for PAP smear. My baby's face came to my mind immediately but then I realized it's for my health. Precautions are always better, especially when it comes to your own life. Cervical cancer...the name itself leads to fear and anxiety. But we need to be practical when it comes to our health. Cancer is something that we don't want to talk about which leads to lack of awareness among the mass.

I am really thankful to my doctor who advised me to go for all these kind of tests. As a woman we must know our health condition and must take care of it. Once you are sexualy active you must go for a PAP smear test. At the beginning(first timers), you should do once in a year for 3 years consecutively and then, once in every 3years till the age of 65. The procedure takes only 10 to 15 minutes including preparation and all. It may be uncomfortable for a minute so you need to relax yourself. So, ladies, when are you doing the PAP Smear test ?

I did the test, when are you asking your mother, daughter, wife, sister to go for it? That would be the best gift for Mother's Day, Raksha Bandhan, Anniversary, birthday, Valentine's Day and of course Friendship Day.

Waiting for my result till you read this. 😁
